Hannah Turlington is an artist and writer that creates contemporary abstract work that is quiet and layered reflecting the narratives of life.

Hannah works with paint, ink, textile and print, using them to capture the essence of what she sees.

Hannah’s work has a strong narrative that seeks to connect with the viewer so that they can share their own stories and find connection. As a writer Hannah’s words use nature as a metaphor for lived experience and the fragility that comes with being human.

Hannah lives and works in North Yorkshire, 14 miles from the coast, which she often heads to for clarity and solace. 

Her work explores soft form, subtle texture, and the suggestion of landscape—without being tied to a specific place. Each piece is built through an intuitive process of layering, mark-making, and refinement, resulting in compositions that feel both grounded and fluid.

Working with a restrained palette and organic shapes, her paintings are created to sit naturally within a space—bringing a sense of calm, depth, and balance.

Alongside original collections, Hannah offers a small number of bespoke commissions, creating pieces tailored to individual interiors.
